Your insurance continues automatically for each month for which a contribution is received from your employer.

Direct Payments (Under Age 65)

You must be a member paying Union Dues to Teamsters Local 230 to be allowed to continue your coverage by the direct payment method.

In the event your hour bank does not contain a full monthly deduction, you may continue your insurance by making your own contributions directly to the Trust Fund. The plan’s administrator will advise when your hour bank account is below the minimum requirement. You may remit direct payments for up to 12 months.

When you have a partial monthly deduction in your hour bank, it will remain there for up to twelve months, and will be used to help satisfy your reinstatement requirements when you return to working on a full time basis.

All benefits may be continued by the Direct Pay method described above except for the Weekly Wage Replacement and Long Term Disability benefits.

Note: In the case of lay-off, Weekly Wage Replacement benefits are payable provided a contribution is made by your employer for the month in which lay-off occurred and you have been recalled to work during that period.

The option to Direct Pay ceases upon your attainment of age 65.
